Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated former Kano State Governor and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on his 70th birthday, describing him as a respected elder brother and partner in the service of Nigeria.

Obi, in a birthday message marking Kwankwaso’s milestone on Wednesday, October 21, reflected on their relationship and shared commitment to building a better country.

He praised Kwankwaso’s decades of public service, highlighting his experience in the legislature, the Federal Executive Council, the Kano State governorship and national politics.

According to Obi, the occasion offers an opportunity to reflect on a life devoted to public service, the lessons gained through experience and the responsibilities that lie ahead.

He also expressed appreciation for their relationship and the conversations they had shared over the years, noting that their common commitment to Nigeria continued to shape their work in public life.

Obi said he remained hopeful for a country where every child could access opportunities, families would not be left in poverty, and citizens could live with dignity, security and hope.

He prayed for Kwankwaso’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, expressing hope that the former governor would enjoy many more productive years.

“May the years ahead be filled with peace, fulfilment, and the satisfaction of seeing the values we cherish take firmer root across our nation,” Obi said.

He concluded by wishing Kwankwaso a fulfilling new chapter, describing the 70th birthday as an occasion to honour his contributions and reaffirm their shared hopes for Nigeria’s future.
