As political activities ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election gather momentum, supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Oladipupo Adebutu have described him as a figure who can stand up for the interests and aspirations of the people.
In a statement written by Korede Oladepo, Adebutu was likened to the biblical David, who confronted Goliath, in a message urging him to remain committed to the needs of ordinary residents of the state.
The statement highlighted the concerns of market women, young graduates, farmers, artisans and other residents, arguing that leadership should focus on improving their lives and giving communities a stronger voice.
It also stressed that the purpose of leadership should go beyond the ambitions of an individual, saying the welfare, dignity and future of the people should remain central to political decisions.
Adebutu, popularly known as LADO, was presented in the statement as a politician whose supporters believe can confront challenges and champion the interests of Ogun residents.
The message called for a political environment in which communities receive attention, citizens have a say in decisions affecting them, and families have reasons to look forward to a better future.
It ended with a call for politicians to place the people at the centre of their promises and actions, using the slogan, “The people matter. Their voices matter. Their future must never be neglected.”
The statement was signed by Korede Oladepo and carried the slogan “Itura de tan” alongside the hashtags associated with Adebutu’s political campaign.
As the 2027 election approaches, the message adds to the political conversation around Adebutu and the PDP’s efforts to present him as a candidate committed to the concerns of Ogun residents.
