The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has congratulated the state’s First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, on her elevation to the rank of professor.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, described the achievement as a well-deserved recognition of her years of academic dedication, scholarship and contributions to knowledge.
The APC said Oyebanji’s elevation was not only a personal milestone but also a source of pride for Ekiti State, noting that she had continued to pursue academic excellence while carrying out her responsibilities as First Lady.
The party also praised her commitment to women, children and vulnerable groups through her various initiatives, describing her as a figure who has demonstrated diligence, humility and a strong drive for excellence in both academic and public life.
According to the statement, her achievement serves as an example to women and young people, showing that public service does not have to come at the expense of further academic advancement.
The party congratulated Oyebanji on behalf of its leadership, members and supporters across Ekiti State’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards.
It also expressed hope that her new academic status would create further opportunities for service and contributions to Ekiti State, Nigeria and the wider world.
