Three students of Baze University, Abuja, have emerged winners of the BIGI Music Competition organised as part of the 2026 Soundcity OnTour, sharing ₦1 million in prize money.
The competition, held on November 4, gave students an opportunity to showcase their musical talents, with Emmanuel Best Man Daniel, popularly known as G-Win, taking the top prize of ₦500,000.
Festus Nenamote, known as Nene, finished as first runner-up and received ₦350,000, while Debekeme Emmanuel Favour, who performs as Fuchi_Plus, came third and won ₦150,000.
The event also featured a performance by Nigerian rapper Odumodu Blvck, whose appearance added to the excitement on campus and brought established music talent closer to the aspiring performers.
The competition is part of Soundcity OnTour, which brings live music, performances and interactive entertainment to tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The 2026 edition is visiting 20 institutions, twice the number covered during its 2023 outing.
Through the initiative, BIGI and Fearless Energy Drink are creating opportunities for students to participate in music and entertainment activities while giving emerging performers a platform to gain recognition.
Following the Baze University event, attention has shifted to the University of Abuja, which is scheduled to host the grand finale of the 2026 Soundcity OnTour from November 5 to 7.
The organisers say the campus competition remains a key part of the tour, allowing students to move beyond watching performances to showcasing their own abilities.
For G-Win, Nene and Fuchi_Plus, the Baze University contest has provided an opportunity to earn recognition and take another step towards their musical ambitions.
