Remi Tinubu Seeks North-Central Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged voters in the North-Central region to support President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in 2027, saying the administration’s reforms would lead to greater prosperity if given another mandate.

She made the appeal on Saturday at a rally organised by the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Lafia, Nasarawa State, to endorse the re-election bids of Tinubu and Shettima.

The rally attracted supporters from across the region, alongside senior All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders, including the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, as well as governors from the North-Central zone.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady said the President’s October 1 Independence Day address, titled From Reforms to Prosperity, reflected the next phase of his administration’s economic agenda.

She argued that the country was beginning to see signs of economic stabilisation, pointing to developments in the foreign exchange market and renewed investor interest. She also praised state governors for their infrastructure projects.

Tinubu said the Federal Government was taking steps to address food insecurity through programmes targeting vulnerable groups, including children and pregnant and breastfeeding women.

She added that the initiatives were intended to improve access to nutritious food and provide support for malnourished children. She also highlighted government funding for young people in education.

Describing the President as a leader willing to make difficult decisions, the First Lady urged supporters to take the administration’s message to their communities and encourage voters to back the APC in the 2027 elections.

She called on the electorate to vote for continuity, capacity and prosperity, urging them to support Tinubu and Shettima alongside other APC candidates.

Other speakers at the rally also called for the President’s re-election, arguing that another term for the administration would help advance its policies and development plans.

The 2027 general elections will determine whether Tinubu and Shettima secure a second term in office.
