MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a new range of DStv and GOtv subscription packages, with prices starting at ₦6,000, as the company moves to give subscribers more options based on their entertainment and sports preferences.
The new packages, unveiled at a press briefing at the company’s head office in Lagos, will take effect from November 5, 2026, under the theme “DStv, Expect More.”
The changes introduce four DStv packages — Starter, Select, Sports and Premium — alongside four GOtv options: Easy, Starter, Select and Sports.
Speaking at the event, MultiChoice Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Kemi Omotosho, said the new structure was designed to reflect changing viewing habits and give customers greater value for their subscriptions.
“Our focus is on giving subscribers better value and access to the entertainment they love,” Omotosho said, highlighting the platform’s combination of African productions, international content and live sports.
Under the new DStv structure, the Starter package will cost ₦6,000 and offer entry-level entertainment, including SuperSport KICKOFF, which will show the Premier League Match of the Week and selected UEFA Champions League matches. Subscribers will also have access to Africa Magic+, which features local and international series.
The Select package, priced at ₦11,000, is aimed at families and will include movie channels, local and international series, selected football and other sports, as well as children’s programming.
For subscribers whose main interest is football, the Sports package will cost ₦21,000. MultiChoice says it will carry every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, alongside WWE and UFC content. The package will also include the general entertainment channels available on Select.
The Premium package, which remains the most comprehensive option, will cost ₦44,500. In addition to the content available on Sports, subscribers will get Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis, major golf tournaments and international series on M-Net.
MultiChoice is also refreshing its movie offering with M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends. The company says the channels will provide more blockbuster films, quicker access to new releases and fewer repeats.
GOtv subscribers will also receive a revised package line-up from November 5, with Easy, Starter, Select and Sports options. However, the announcement did not include the individual prices or detailed channel lists for the four GOtv packages.
Beyond the subscription changes, MultiChoice said its decoder promotion was still available to new customers. The offer allows customers to purchase a DStv or GOtv decoder, a full installation kit and one month of an entry-level subscription for ₦15,000.
Customers who prefer to watch without a decoder can also use the DStv Stream app as a standalone service, with subscriptions starting at ₦6,000.
The changes give subscribers different price points to consider, particularly those who want specific content without necessarily paying for the most expensive package. Football fans, families and viewers primarily interested in general entertainment will now have separate DStv options to choose from.
MultiChoice said the revamp was part of its effort to make its entertainment offerings more accessible while providing content suited to the different needs of Nigerian viewers.
