Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has denied any connection with a group that released a video responding to remarks by the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Kehinde Adeola Al-Maroof-Oloyede, also known as Kendoo.
In a statement, MC Oluomo said he neither knew the individuals involved nor authorised or sponsored their response to the council chairman’s video, which was recorded and shared during a trip to China.
He accused Kendoo of dragging his name into the controversy without evidence, describing the allegations against him as an attempt to blackmail him and damage his reputation.
MC Oluomo said the response video had attracted attention from transport workers and other political stakeholders who felt concerned by the chairman’s remarks. However, he insisted that he had no personal, political or indirect relationship with the group responsible for the video.
He also claimed that individuals associated with the group had publicly denied having any link with him, adding that the chairman should provide credible evidence to support any allegation connecting him to them.
MC Oluomo calls for investigation
The NURTW president welcomed the council chairman’s reported call for security agencies to investigate the controversy, urging them to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into both videos.
He also called for the findings to be made public, saying the investigation should establish the facts and clear up questions surrounding the dispute.
The disagreement also touches on the council’s proposed procurement of 300 tricycles for a community transportation scheme.
According to MC Oluomo, he had no objection to the initiative, but took issue with the chairman’s reported declaration that National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) officials, including those associated with his name, would not be allowed to impose levies on the tricycles.
He maintained that his concerns should not be interpreted as opposition to providing transport support for residents of Oshodi-Isolo.
MC Oluomo concluded by reaffirming his commitment to peace and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he would not be distracted by what he described as baseless allegations.
The statement was signed by MC Oluomo in his capacity as NURTW president and an APC stakeholder. The allegations and claims in the statement have not been independently verified.
