The management and staff of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) have celebrated its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on her 64th birthday, praising her contributions to public service and efforts to strengthen ties between Nigeria and its citizens abroad.
Dabiri-Erewa, who was born on October 11, 1962, into the Erogbogbo family in Ikorodu, Lagos State, marked her birthday on Sunday.
In a birthday message, the commission described her as an “Amazon,” citing her commitment to diaspora engagement, national development and the welfare of Nigerians living outside the country.
NiDCOM said her leadership had helped advance efforts to encourage Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute to the country’s development through investment, professional expertise and other forms of support.
The commission also highlighted its work in promoting diaspora participation in nation-building and advocating for the protection and welfare of Nigerians abroad.
It noted that stronger connections between Nigerians overseas and their homeland could help drive sustainable development and create opportunities for the country.
As she marked the milestone, NiDCOM wished Dabiri-Erewa good health, wisdom and renewed strength, expressing confidence in her continued contributions to public service.
The commission described her as a dedicated public servant whose work has focused on strengthening the relationship between Nigeria and its citizens across the world.
