Reports claiming that former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has died have begun circulating, but his death has not been independently confirmed.
The reports allege that the former governor died in the early hours of Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 71. However, no fresh official statement from his family has been provided to substantiate the claim.
A similar rumour circulated in June 2026 and was dismissed by the Delta State Government. At the time, a media aide to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori said he had spoken with Uduaghan’s daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who confirmed that her father was alive.
Uduaghan served as governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015 and remains a prominent figure in the state’s political history.
