Promasidor has launched a new sustainability reporting app to encourage employees to identify environmental concerns and help improve resource management across its operations.
The Eco Alert App was unveiled during the company’s Sustainability Day 2026, an employee engagement event focused on promoting responsible practices and recognising progress in the company’s sustainability efforts.
The platform provides employees with a channel to report sustainability-related issues, allowing concerns to be identified and addressed more promptly.
Promasidor said the initiative was designed to make sustainability a shared responsibility, encouraging staff to take an active role in identifying areas where the company can reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Speaking at the event, the company’s Chief Technical Officer, Brighton Ochieng, highlighted progress made despite the challenges involved in implementing its sustainability plans.
He disclosed that Promasidor had reduced its paper usage by 30 per cent year-to-date, while improvements in water and energy consumption had contributed to better resource efficiency and significant savings during the year.
The progress, according to the company, demonstrates how more responsible resource use can help reduce waste while improving operational efficiency.
The Packaging and Sustainability Manager, Solomon Makanjuola, also spoke about the growing importance of sustainability to the business. He shared insights into emerging trends and encouraged employees to make more environmentally conscious decisions in their daily activities.
The event also recognised employees whose efforts have contributed to the company’s sustainability goals. The Heat Factory received special recognition for adopting a paperless process, an approach aimed at reducing paper consumption and promoting more efficient work practices.
Employees also took part in a sustainability quiz designed to test their knowledge and reinforce lessons from the event.
The programme ended with participants pledging to adopt sustainable practices not only at work but also in their homes and communities.
With the introduction of the Eco Alert App and reported reductions in paper use, Promasidor is seeking to strengthen employee participation in its sustainability drive, with a focus on turning awareness into practical action across its operations.
