Retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) Frank Mba has begun a new chapter in his career with the unveiling of his law firm, FRANK MBA LEGAL, in Abuja, following 34 years of service in the Nigeria Police Force.

The unveiling took place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at the firm’s office in Wuse 2, coinciding with Mba’s birthday celebration. The event brought together serving and retired police chiefs, government officials, business leaders, friends and associates to mark the occasion.
Among the dignitaries present were Minister of Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; former Inspectors-General of Police Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar and Usman Alkali Baba; convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), Pastor Jerry Eze; and Chairman of Chrome Group, Chief Sir Emeka Offor.

Other attendees included retired Deputy Inspectors-General of Police Sadiq Abubakar, Tijani Baba and Dan Kwara, alongside serving DIGs Ekene Onwuemeelie, Isiyaku Abubakar and Suleiman Mohammed. Members of the National Assembly also attended the event.
Speaking at the unveiling, Mba said his decision to establish the firm was driven by his desire to continue contributing to society by combining his experience in policing, legal training and public service.
“Retirement is not the end of service; it is an opportunity to serve in a different capacity,” he said, adding that his years in the police had equipped him with experience in leadership, discipline, conflict management and the administration of justice.

He described law as an instrument for protecting rights, resolving disputes and strengthening public confidence in institutions, expressing his ambition to build a practice known for professionalism and trust.
Mba retired from the Nigeria Police Force in March 2026 after 34 years of service. During his career, he served three times as Force Public Relations Officer, becoming a familiar face in police communication and public engagement. He also served as Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State and Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.
As a member of the Force’s management team, he was responsible for the Department of Training and Development, where he contributed to the professional development of police personnel.
His transition to legal practice draws on a long-standing academic background in law. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos, attended the Nigerian Law School as an award winner and earned a Master of Laws degree with distinction from the University of Dundee, Scotland. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2002.
Beyond Nigeria, Mba served with the Nigerian Police contingent to the United Nations Mission in Liberia from 2006 to 2007, earning a United Nations Medal for his service.
The opening of FRANK MBA LEGAL marks his move from policing to private legal practice, with the retired police chief hoping to apply the experience gained over decades in public service to his new profession.
